I had absolutely no idea as to what type of wedding veil I wanted when I was getting married. There were so many options from the shoulder length one to the long-laced edge ones. I also stressed out about whether the veil I chose would suit the dress I would choose. It is my mission that through this blog, I can give you some tips and insights regarding the types of wedding veils that would suit you so that you do not have to go through the mental mayhem that I had to go through.

It can be somewhat overwhelming when looking into the types of veils that are available for you. Tiers? However, when broken down in a methodical manner, wedding veils are so easy to understand and appreciate.

Types of Wedding Veils

1. Single Tier Wedding Veils

A Single Tier Wedding Veil is really simple in design and what most people who think of when asked to explain what a veil is. This sort of veil flows from a point of attachment, normally a comb, down past the back. The Single Tier Wedding Veil does not have a veil covering the face, or a blusher.

2. Two Tier Wedding Veils

After reading what a Single Tier Wedding Veil is above, you can pretty much guess for a Two-Tier Wedding Veil would be. This sort of veil includes a blusher or a veil which covers the face, which can, as you may guess, be pulled over the face. The second tier is normally pulled over the face during the ceremony when you and your then husband kiss for the first time as husband and wife. When completely pulled over the face, the second layer veil covers the back in a “two-tier” fashion.  3. Drop Wedding Veils

Picture a Two Tier Wedding veil, but without the comb attachment. This is basically a Drop Wedding Veil. In order to ensure that the veil is held in place, you need to secure it with hair pins or a headband. It is even possible to sew an invisible comb onto our drop veils.

4. Mantilla Wedding Veils

A Mantilla Wedding Veil is basically a single Tier Veil with no gather. We sew a comb to the top of the veil so it can be worn at the top of the head. They are sometimes described as Spanish veils.
